Schomberg Village Association

A Main Street Christmas

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

When the snow is just starting to fall and Winter is almost here, Schomberg gets all dressed up and invites everyone from near and far to come and enjoy a fun-filled family outing along our historic Main Street. There are street performers, carollers, children's entertainers, fireside readings, children's crafts, holiday creations, an art and craft show, and, of course, Santa Claus and his reindeer.

The event starts with the Craft Show at 3 p.m, followed by the exciting Santa's Parade at 4, where local businesses and groups participate with creative floats and several bands march while playing rousing tunes. Between 5 and 8 you are invited to wander up and down Main Street to enjoy the sights and sounds of a bygone era with carollers singing and music playing.

Stroll down Main Street, enjoy the festivities and be entertained by jugglers, musicians and singers. All the while you are tempted at every turn by refreshments such as hot apple cider, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, cookies and much, much more.

The evening is brought to a spectacular close with the Farmers' Parade of Lights brought to you by our local farming community with farm equipment driven down Main Street like you have never seen it before!

A Main Street Christmas has become a true Community Celebration in our lovely historic village.

AMSC is presented by the Schomberg Village Association, a non-profit organization, and sponsored in part by local businesses, individuals and groups. We offer our particular thanks to the local farming community who spend countless hours preparing for the Famous Parade of Lights.

Part of the proceeds generated from the event is donated to one or more of the local community groups to benefit Schomberg and the surrounding area.

Cost for the day is $5 per adult, and children 12 and under are free.

AMSC could not happen without the dozens of local residents which make up the team of volunteers who help to run the event each year.
