Don Day
For many people, the name Don Day is synonymous with DITA—just one example of how Don’s collaborative leadership and passion for the innovation process have contributed widespread value. Don has been innovating at the enterprise level for more than 20 years; receiving patents and official recognition for his role in renovating the tools and processes used to create IBM’s information assets and being named an OASIS Distinguished Contributor for his dedication to the evolution and adoption of the DITA XML standard. Don convened the formation of the OASIS Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) Technical Committee, of which he is Co-Chair, and he drove IBM's contribution to SourceForge of the DITA Open Toolkit. Don consults, blogs, and speaks on the use of DITA to solve “big content” problems which he defines as large-scale collaborative processes in the public and private sectors where authors and readers need to be engaged by the content—not by technical hurdles.
